Have you ever argued about sports with a friend and wished someone would declare you the winner?
Well, Pittsburgh natives and longtime friends Zachary Snyder and Jonathan Weinberg had the same thought during the summer of 2014 while debating about the Pirates.
But they decided to harness the potential for their idea and actually do something about it.
“We thought there needed to be a way for us to carry out these arguments and have them seen and judged by other people,” Weinberg said.
Weinberg, who was living in New York at the time, flew back to his hometown the next weekend to meet with Snyder. They holed themselves up in Snyder’s apartment and developed the concept of what is now Fandings.
Since then, Fandings has evolved into one of the top sports mobile apps. It delivers daily questions on the hottest sports topics for friends, family and foes to debate, and it lets other users play referee by voting for the winners. Thanks to a growing community of knowledgeable and dedicated users – and the innovative idea of two friends – no great sports argument shall be left unresolved again.
