What is an interesting fact about you?
My dad named me after a CBS show called “Spencer’s Pilots” that aired for two months in 1976.
What is your favorite sport?
The NFL. It has become more than just a sport. It has made itself into a weekend event where every game is must-see.
Who are your favorite sports teams?
The Green Bay Packers. You can’t be from Upper Michigan and not be a Packers fan. The Detroit Tigers and Pistons. I always rooted for these teams as a kid. Notre Dame. My wife and her family are from South Bend (Ind.). Once you see that Golden Dome, it’s hard not to be a fan. Xavier Musketeers. I live and die with my alma mater Muskies (Class of 1999).
Who are your least favorite sports teams?
New York Yankees. Always hated them dating back to Billy Martin. My father-in-law is a huge fan, so it’s just an added bonus. Ohio State football. Their fans are obnoxious. Cincinnati basketball. I hate all things Bearcat.
If you could have dinner with three athletes, dead or alive, who would they be?
Walter Payton. My wife loves the ’85 Bears, so gotta get this one for her. Alan Trammell. I have entire baseball card books filled with just his cards. Leroy Butler. He’s the inventor of the Lambeau Leap.
Which athlete do you most root against?
Anthony Rizzo. He’s a good player and probably good guy, but he’s had multiple run-ins with the Reds, including one of the best brawls I’ve seen with Aroldis Chapman. Ryan Shazier. He plays for Steelers and Ohio State alum … enough said.
What is the greatest game you’ve ever attended?
No. 19 Xavier vs. No. 15 Creighton on Dec. 31, 2002. It featured future NBAers David West and Kyle Korver. Korver was unbelievable, but XU got the win.
What superstitions do you have before and during a big sports events?
No real superstitions, but I did eat Chinese food for seven consecutive weeks during the Packers’ Super Bowl season in 2011. I also grew a playoff beard for this year’s playoff run.
What is your favorite movie?
The Jerk. Classic Steve Martin.
What is your favorite TV show?
Gotham. I love the new take on the Batman lore.
Who is your favorite band?
Aerosmith. Iconic songs that have stood the test of time.
What three things have to be in your refrigerator at all times?
Coke Zero, water and iced tea. The basics!

Husband, dad, friend.

Carl Tait and I debated a topic on the Rody and Linelli Show. Carl smoked me, and I didn’t even get one vote.
What is your favorite thing about Fandings?
Being able to interact with sports fans from all over and all ages, and the community aspect of the app, as well.
